Let’s talk about our Cement Overlay. It’s gaining popularity and we would love to tell you more about it.
Cement overlay or Microtopping is a cement-based product with a thickness of 2-3 mm and is highly abrasion resistance. Because of its strong adhesion, the microcement can be applied virtually on any type of stable surface, including ceramics, existing wall or floor tiles or kitchen bench tops.
Due to the fact that cement overlay can be applied on existing stable surfaces it is possible to get a quick surface renovation, which helps to save on time and money, compared to ripping out existing and starting all over again.
Unlike most floor and wall coverings, the cement overlay is absolutely customizable. The material gives clients flexibility in where it can be used compared to other finishes. The mortar is troweled onto existing surfaces and is sealed with a low satin finish sealer to give durability. The craftsmanship of the application makes the texture of the surface unrepeatable in every project giving clients a unique textured finish.
Today’s interiors and on trend finishes are about going back to basics or selecting products with an obvious link to nature. Carrara marble, timber and concrete are making a return to our homes and work places, as we crave a link to natural elements in the super busy lifestyles we lead.
Concrete poured floors, walls or bench tops are not available to everyone either due to budget, scope of works being completed i.e.not building brand new or adding on a whole extension but that doesn’t mean you can’t include this beautiful finish in your home. With the cement overlay product we can now add this detail to your exisiting bathroom, kitchen, ensuite or flooring. “WE ARE THRILLED TO HAVE A PRODUCT WITHIN OUR COLLECTION THAT GIVES CLIENTS A UNIQUE, NATURAL FINISH” – Ryan, Retro Revamp
Our finished images show the amazing texture of the cement overlay. It is important to note clients considering this product for home or work must realise it is a hand troweled on product which will have inconsistencies and marks throughout – this is the beauty of not having a flat, lifeless product.
